The Maxxis Assegai is a high-performance mountain bike tyre designed in collaboration with downhill legend Greg Minnaar. It combines elements from popular Maxxis tyres to create a versatile, supportive, and grippy tyre for aggressive riding.

Tyre Design

The Assegai features:

• Tall, well-supported side knobs for aggressive cornering grip
• Ramped centre knobs for improved rolling efficiency
• An extra lug between centre and side knobs for consistent transitions when leaning
• Open tread pattern for excellent mud-shedding capabilities
• Sipes on knobs for additional traction on wet surfaces

Compounds (in order of increasing grip)

1. Dual Compound: Balances rolling efficiency and grip, suitable for trail and all-mountain riding.
2. 3C MaxxTerra: Versatile compound offering a balance of grip, durability, and rolling efficiency.
3. 3C MaxxGrip: Softer compound prioritizing grip over durability, ideal for downhill and extreme enduro riding.

Casings

• EXO: Lightweight and flexible casing with good puncture protection for trail and all-mountain use.
• EXO+: Upgraded version of EXO with added puncture resistance and sidewall durability.
• DoubleDown (DD): Reinforced casing for aggressive enduro racing and e-bike use.
• DH: Most robust casing designed for downhill racing and extreme terrain.
